About this clinic

When genes in the body undergo mutations, the functions of the proteins that they encode become impaired, leading to genetic diseases, lifestyle-related diseases, and cancer.

Our hospital performs DNA diagnosis using multiplex molecular testing, a cutting-edge method that detects abnormalities in a total of 120 cancer-associated genes ( “oncogenes”). This method is capable of identifying the presence and location of early-stage cancers 5 mm or less in diameter and other abnormal cells that can not be detected with conventional cancer detection tests such as PET and CT. In addition, by identifying the risk of “precancerous states”, this method enables prediction of the risks of developing various types of cancer over the next 3-5 years.

Cancer is a genetic disease caused by the expression and mutation of many oncogenes. Because mutations may vary individually even for the same type of cancer, multiple gene mutations must be simultaneously tested in order to accurately diagnose this complex and diverse disease.

Our hospital is a medical facility, which means we are able to make diagnoses (unlike genetic testing facilities, which only perform testing).
In order to diagnose the stage of cancer progression and determine a treatment strategy, it is important to make diagnoses using the test results based on databases. This is what sets medical facilities apart from testing facilities.

Normally, the tumor itself is necessary for genetic diagnosis; however, we are also able to perform diagnosis with 20 cc of blood. This enables us to make a very early diagnosis prior to the onset of cancer. Genetic diagnosis would not contribute to early diagnosis if it were made after the cancer develops. If it becomes possible to diagnose and delete oncogenes before cancer develops, signs of cancer can be identified before the cancer develops. Therefore, very early diagnosis and treatment are truly becoming a reality.
